I double and triple-checked the netinst-iso that I had downloaded thinking I must have downloaded the Fedora 11 version by mistake. Though the xp hd was left in the system, I disabled/disconnected it so mobo couldn't recognize it. Finally, make Synergy run on both machines on start-up.
