dskmgnt can see it, but it says failed. I have no idea why windows7 only shows a small percentage of your original disk space, it cannot even read the GPT, thus it should show you the whole disk as As a side note, NTLDR is used in NT versions up through XP. Incase if you still need to recover your important data which is less than a 1GB then let me know. If it was REALLY critical and you had no backup, then send the drive to a data recovery company. How do I get the recovery partition (D drive) to stay visible or boot everytime? As I said above, I never used windows8, everything I wrote is a wild guess.
