I found a paper that was in the box with it before but it just says it's a "XFX PRO series PSU". 3. Should I just go for it? In the command prompt window type:chkdsk /r (then press ENTER). I've not added any new hardware of late regularly keep my software up to date. It doesn't matter what the error is.

I've updated dozens of bios's and never had the slightest issue. can anyone help? If it does, then you'd need to pull 2 sticks to test the memory. This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
